Your story creatively captured:

A photo session documenting this moment in time with yourself, your family or your significant other.

Your Photographer

Exploring a love for both documentary and its ability to freeze truth in time, in frame rich with story - and portraiture which allows us to be bravely front and centre, in a dance with vulnerability and creativity.

I have a relaxed approach, often being told I have “gentle” energy (but can turn into a creatively excited child when we get in the flow!)
I care greatly about the quality of my work and give both the capturing and editing careful care to ensure we create the images that are both creative and meaningful to you.
Every session and every woman and couple are different, so we adapt to every unique session, whether you’re comfortable in front of the camera, or need more direction. Whether you’re up for a more relaxed session, or down to get creative and play with storytelling, I’m there.

Embracing it all - The style

The most meaningful photographs always capture the essence of your story.

My approach is a mixture of documentary and portrait photography, which will lean either way depending on the type and flow of the session you choose.
A portrait session in nature will feature more photos with you as the focus and centerpiece, natural and creative. Whereas during a session at home, or with children around, we will flow more with what naturally unfolds, leaning into documentary.
At times I may direct you - e.g the photo to the right at the window, - and at other times follow what unfolds. We’ll talk about what you’re comfortable with before our shoot.

Step 5:

Shoot day!

FAQ’s

  • Yes, if the weather is really rainy or windy the next day and we're set to shoot outside, we can definitely set another date. Overcast grey days or a light sprinkle however are great for moody or diffused lighting.

  • Before our session I'll send you some recommendations for what to wear - colours etc that will work best photographically and with my editing style. I encourage you to embrace your individual self and style, or even pick out pieces that tell a story. Be you, and be comfy above all. Be sure to let me know if you have any creative ideas involving clothing or costume - I'm all for it.
If you can send me some photos of what you might wear before our shoot even better.

  • Somewhere special to you is always a good place to start. If travelling feels too much, how about a session centered around your home and daily life? We can make that as creative or documentary-like as we want to.

Is there a special place in nature you have spent time? This photo to the right is not just a forest - It's a location with lots of history, very dear to the couple in the picture.

Different locations bring different colours and moods to the photographs.

Within nature locations we will pick a few of the best areas where the best light and nature meet and focus our creative attention there.
On our longer sessions, we can choose a mixture of photos in nature and at home.

  • Yes, I’m open to paying your session off over 4 or 6 weeks from the shoot date or booking.
($150 deposit is due upon booking)

“I’m awkward in front of the camera”

I hear those words all the time. Me too!
These sessions are for everyone, even if you haven’t stepped in front of the camera before.
My focus is making you relaxed and at ease. Your main task on the day will be to focus on connection to self or your loved ones above all and I can help with suggestion on prompts and direction as it flows.
